A "Choice" category gives a person the opportunity to make choices in their life by choosing from a collection of activities or places. These are activities that a person might desire to do at any given time. For example, one can choose whether to go to the park, go swimming, take a bike ride, or play basketball. (Any of the following choices may also be used singularly as a Main Category.) Choice categories follow:

In addition to the 80 categories above, a person can select from 5 specialized categories. These categories must use materials from Visions Communications Collection ® and, therefore, there is an additional cost. Specialized Categories can be used as one or more of the eight Main Categories to form the picture prompting program. An example of a Specialized Category would be a recipe category to choose from a selection of 100 recipes from the Visions Menu of Mealsä . The specialized categories follow:

___  Single Recipes for One (or) Single Recipes for Two
   An Individual may choose from 100 already prepared recipes.   Includes main dishes, sandwiches, soups, salads, side dishes, fruits and desserts. 

   If the Single Recipe Category is chosen, an Individual may have 16 Recipes or 32 Recipes [PP Cost]


___  Meals for One (and/or) Meals for Two----For lunch or dinner----Two Recipes make a Meal.  An Individual may choose from 50 already selected two-recipe meals.

   If the Meals Category is chosen, an Individual may have 8 Meals or 16 Meals.  [PP Cost]


___  Grocery Shopping  
   A category that offers meal planning and a systematic way to make a picture grocery list.  Includes meal books, grocery item photos and picture list book.

   If Grocery Shopping Category is chosen, an Individual must also select the Meals or Recipe Category because they all interconnect. [PP Cost]


___  Card Shopping
   A category that automatically shows on the touchscreen monitor the picture of a person when their birthday is coming and gives a step-by-step process to prepare and mail a card.   Includes a Family & Friends book with family/friend photos, address labels, return address labels, request communication cards and/or transportation cards, if needed.


___  Restaurants  
   A category that displays up to 8 restaurants on the touchscreen monitor for an Individual to choose.   May include a Restaurant book with restaurant photos, meal communication cards and/or transportation cards, if needed.
